WiFi dropping out, cameras going offline, speakers staying silent, or a smart home that has become difficult to use? Hardwired AV helps homeowners and businesses in Los Angeles and Southern California troubleshoot existing low-voltage systems, plan repairs, and decide what is worth keeping.

You do not need to start with a complete replacement. Tell us what has stopped working, what equipment you have, and whether another company installed it. We will review the situation and discuss the next step.

Systems we can help troubleshoot

Home and business networking

Unreliable WiFi can involve coverage, interference, cabling, access-point placement, or the connection coming into the building. We can review the network layout and connected equipment, investigate dead zones and intermittent connections, and recommend targeted improvements. If the issue belongs to your internet provider, we will explain what needs to be checked with them.

Security cameras and recording systems

We can assess cameras that drop offline, recording problems, unreliable remote viewing, and network or wiring issues affecting an existing system. The right repair depends on the camera and recorder models, power supply, cable condition, and access to the system. Before replacing equipment, we work to understand which part of the setup is causing the problem.

Speakers, TVs and connected audio

Missing audio, unreliable room zones, or confusing controls may involve source settings, amplifiers, connections, network devices, or speaker wiring. We can review the signal path and discuss practical repair or upgrade options for the equipment you already own.

Smart home controls and lighting systems

If devices no longer respond consistently or a system has become difficult to manage, we can review the existing controls, network connections, and equipment compatibility. Some systems require manufacturer support, a specific dealer, current software, or account access before changes can be made. We confirm those requirements before promising a repair.

Taking over a system installed by someone else

Bought a home with existing equipment, inherited an office network, or lost contact with the original installer? Start by gathering model numbers, any installation notes, and a description of the problem. Photos of the equipment and labeled connections can help establish what is installed.

We can review the setup, identify missing information, and discuss a path forward. A takeover may involve documenting wiring, recovering access through the manufacturer’s approved process, replacing unsupported components, or coordinating with the original provider. Ownership and account access must be established; a site visit cannot guarantee recovery of unavailable programming or credentials.

What happens next

  1. Describe the issue. Send your city, whether the property is residential or commercial, what is failing, and when it started. Include equipment models if you know them.
  2. Review the existing setup. We discuss the symptoms and whether an on-site assessment is appropriate. Share any construction or business-operation deadlines.
  3. Agree on the scope. Before repair or replacement work proceeds, review the proposed work and applicable costs. Diagnosis, parts availability, access and system complexity can affect the plan.
  4. Check the result. The agreed repair should be checked against the original problem, with an explanation of remaining limitations or recommended follow-up.

Repair, upgrade or replace?

A targeted repair may be sensible when the main equipment is supported and the problem is confined to a connection, configuration, power supply or cable. An upgrade may be more practical when hardware is no longer supported, recording or coverage needs have changed, or the existing installation cannot reliably serve the property.

We will discuss those tradeoffs in the context of your system. For offices, retail and other workplaces, see our commercial AV and networking services. For a remodel where new cable routes are possible, see low-voltage prewire planning.

Frequently asked questions

Can you work on equipment another company installed?

We can assess an existing installation and discuss whether we can take on the work. Compatibility, manufacturer requirements, account access and the condition of the installation determine what is possible.

Do I need to replace the whole system?

Not necessarily. Diagnosis helps separate an isolated fault from a system that needs broader changes. We discuss repair and replacement options after reviewing the equipment and your needs.

Can you quote a repair from a photo?

A photo can help identify equipment and prepare for a conversation, but it may not reveal cable faults, intermittent problems or configuration issues. Some work needs an on-site assessment before the scope can be estimated.

What should I send with my inquiry?

Include your city, the affected system, its model numbers if available, what happens when you try to use it, and any recent changes. Do not send passwords, access codes or camera login credentials through the contact form.
