Security Camera Installation in Los Angeles

A security camera system should give you a clear picture of what’s happening on your property, keep working without you thinking about it, and give you something useful to hand to police if you ever need it. That’s a higher bar than most systems clear.

Installation Security Cameras

We design and install cameras for houses, storefronts, restaurants, offices, warehouses, and multi-building properties across Los Angeles. Every system is hardwired with PoE to a local NVR, tuned for the actual site, not dropped in from a checklist and set up a live view and playback from your phone.

What we install: overview cameras for driveways, yards, entry-point cameras at doors and gates. We also install license plate capture cameras for driveway approaches. We have covert or discreet cameras where visibility matters less than coverage.

What we replace or repair: cheap DIY kits that keep dropping offline, wireless cameras that can’t hold a signal, older analog systems, or professionally installed systems that were never configured correctly. In many cases we can reuse existing cabling and only swap the parts that are causing problems.

If you’re not sure what you actually need, that’s fine. We walk the property, talk through the process on how you want to custom system to work, and give you a written simple quote. We want you to understand how Hardwired AV works for you.

Placement that eliminates blind spots

We walk the property with sight lines in mind — cameras go where they see what matters, at heights that resist tampering.

Why Choose Hardwired AV for Security Camera Installation

Licensed and Insured

Never put your security camera system in the hands of a team that's not covered. We are licensed and insured for all work.

Family Owned

Support a local family-owned small business. We believe in the power of community protection and the power of small business.

Quality Work

Cutting corners on part quality simply leads to a shorter life for your security system. We only use the best, so your surveillance system is reliable and long-lasting.

Warranty

All of our security camera systems come equipped with a 2 year warranty on equipment and a 3 year warranty on the installation.

Deep Sentinel

Live-monitored cameras that actually intervene

Ordinary cameras record what happened. Deep Sentinel is different — it uses AI to detect a person on your property and connects to live guards who speak through a two-way speaker in real time. The guard sees the live video, warns the person off, and dispatches police if needed.

We install Deep Sentinel as a stand-alone system or as an added layer on top of a traditional surveillance install. The two work well together: a Deep Sentinel camera watches the perimeter and intervenes; the PoE cameras and NVR give you high-resolution recording of the whole property.

Live guard response

A trained guard is watching in seconds, not minutes. They speak directly through the camera to intervene before anything happens.

AI person detection

Filters out cars, animals, and blowing branches. You get alerts that matter, not a flood of false triggers.

Two-way audio

The guard talks to whoever is on your property. In most cases, that alone is enough to end the encounter.

Police dispatch

When intervention isn’t enough, the guard calls it in with live video evidence — which gets a much faster response.

Great for driveways & gates

Ideal for the perimeter of a home, side yards, storefronts, back-of-house at a restaurant, or a job site.

Professional install

We handle mounting, power, network, and initial configuration. You just download the app.

Existing security camera repairs

Cameras dropping offline? NVR won’t record? Cheap system installed by the previous owner? We service and upgrade cameras installed by anyone. Bring us in for a diagnostic before you replace the whole system — often the fix is smaller than it looks.

FAQ Security Camera Installation

What kind of camera system should I install at my home?

For most homes we recommend a hardwired PoE camera system with a local NVR. Power and video run over a single Ethernet cable to each camera, which is more reliable than battery or Wi-Fi cameras and gives you higher resolution, longer retention, and no monthly subscription for recording.

Do I need cameras at every entry point?

At a minimum, you want coverage on every ground-floor door and the driveway. From there, we look at gates, side yards, garages, and any blind spots created by landscaping or architecture. Placement matters more than camera count — we walk the property before quoting.

Can I view my cameras from my phone?

Yes. You get a single app that shows live view and recorded footage from anywhere with an internet connection. Multiple family members or employees can have their own accounts with different permission levels.

How long is footage kept?

Retention depends on hard drive size, resolution, and the number of cameras. Most residential systems store 14–30 days. Commercial systems often run 30–90 days. We size storage to your needs before we build the system.

Do the cameras work at night?

Yes. Professional cameras include infrared for dark environments or low-light color sensors that keep color detail down to very dim light. Some models combine both, and we pick the right one based on the location and ambient light.

Can you capture license plates?

Yes, but license plate capture is a separate camera type with the right lens, shutter speed, and mounting angle. Trying to read plates with a general-purpose overview camera almost never works. We install dedicated LPR cameras at driveways and gates when it matters.

Can you repair or upgrade my existing camera system?

Yes. We troubleshoot and repair systems installed by other companies all the time — bad power, dropped cameras, failing NVRs, outdated firmware, or a system that was never set up correctly. In many cases we can reuse cabling and just swap out the problem components.

Do you install video doorbells?

Yes. We install wired video doorbells and integrate them with the rest of the camera system so events show up in the same app.

Do you offer maintenance?

Yes. We handle firmware updates, camera cleaning, hard drive replacement, and system health checks. Cameras are outside in the sun and rain — periodic maintenance keeps them working.

How much does a camera system cost?

A basic residential system with a handful of cameras typically starts in the low thousands. Larger properties, LPR, or commercial systems scale from there. We give you a written quote after a site walkthrough — no ballpark pricing over the phone.
