Low Voltage Prewire LA

We handle prewire for new construction and remodels across Los Angeles. We coordinate with general contractors, architects, and electricians so the low-voltage rough-in fits the schedule. Every cable is labeled at both ends, routed away from high voltage runs, and terminated at a structured wiring panel or rack.

What we typically pull: Cat6 or Cat6A to every TV, desk, camera location, access point, and rack. Speaker wire to any room that might ever want audio. Coax where it’s still useful. Fiber between buildings or long runs. Control wiring for lighting, shades, and keypads. Rough-in boxes for wall-mounted touchscreens and door stations.

The goal is a house that’s ready for whatever you decide to install, now or five years from now. We want to make wiring available without cutting drywall to add it later in 10 years when you want to add new technology.

Ethernet and fiber pulled during framing outlive the devices they connect to. The wire is the long-term investment; the gear on either end is easy to swap.

When in the build should we prewire?

After framing, plumbing rough, and electrical rough — before insulation and drywall. If you can, involve us during design so we can flag ceiling heights, joist directions, and rack locations that make the finished install cleaner.

What should I prewire for even if I'm not installing it yet?

Camera locations at every entry, driveway, and gate. Ethernet drops behind every TV and at every desk. Speaker wire in the ceiling of any room you'd want music in. A rack location with power, cooling, and a dedicated network drop. Adding wire later means opening walls you just paid to close.

Do you coordinate with the general contractor?

Yes. We schedule around the trades, protect our work through the rest of the build, and come back for trim-out at the right stage.

What cable do you use?

Cat6 or Cat6A for data. 16-gauge speaker wire for most in-ceiling runs, heavier for long runs and outdoor. RG6 quad-shield where it's still needed. Fiber between IDFs and outbuildings. All plenum-rated where code requires it.

Can we prewire during a remodel too?

Yes. Any time drywall is open is a chance to add wire. We do full remodels and single-room refreshes.

Does prewire lock us into your company for the finish?

No. We document everything so any qualified integrator can pick up the trim-out. Most of our prewire clients bring us back because the transition is easier, not because they're locked in.
